PANAJI: Dragon FC Margao staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Rosary Boys Zoriwaddo 5-3 in a penalty shootout, securing their place in the semifinals of the 18th Rebello Pandal All-Goa Open Football Tournament. The match, held at the St. Rita Church Ground in Maina-Curtorim, concluded in a 2-2 draw after regulation time.
Rosary Boys took the lead with goals from Veron Fernandes and Prince Figueredo, while Dragon FC responded with equalizers from Rayman Fernandes and Velito Miranda. The match remained deadlocked, leading to a penalty shootout to determine the winner.
In the ensuing shootout, Dragon FC’s Richard, Rayman Fernandes, and Velito Miranda successfully converted their penalties, while Rosary Boys’ Munna was the sole scorer for his team. Dragon FC emerged victorious with a 5-3 scoreline in the shootout.
Velito Miranda’s outstanding performance throughout the match earned him the ‘Man of the Match’ award, which was presented by Edwin Sequeira.
