SANGUEM: Sports playground was inaugurated at the hands of Sports Minister Govind Gaude in the presence of Sanguem MLA and Minister for Social Welfare Subhash Faldesai on Friday.
During the inauguration ceremony of the village panchayat ground at Molcorem Quepem, minister Gaude said, “Don’t dream at night, but dream should be seen in the daytime that will fulfill your aim, drive and vision to become great sports person ambassador of the country.
He said I am here as sports minister, not to do time pass, and I feel that Goa should flourish in sports at the national level.
After completing their studies, students can get jobs and make their careers.
Local MLA and social welfare minister Subhash Faldesai said it is a dream for Sanguenkar. After completing this groundwork, the inauguration was delayed by making excuses and complaints by some ex-politicians. Still, after a quick initiative by the sports minister,he came for inspection within no time, and a few days after inspection minister said that the ground would be ready for inauguration.
He further said It is also essential that grassroots level development in sports is needed. There is a need to develop infrastructure and facilities in villages as many sports talents come from rural areas.
Meanwhile, minister Faldesai said that it is also essential that, along with playing, children also take care of the ground as well.
