PANAJI: Drishti Marine lifesavers assisted a Delhi tourist injured at Arambol beach and rescued a couple from drowning off Candolim beach in two separate incidents on Sunday.
At Arambol beach, a 29-year-old male tourist from Delhi sustained a minor leg injury after stepping on a glass shard while bathing in the sea. Lifesaver Akshan transported the injured man by jeep to the lifesaver tower, where team captain Ana Malekar and lifesaver Sadashiv Girap administered first aid.
At Candolim beach, a 45-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman, both from Delhi, were rescued after they got into distress while swimming around 6:45 am. Lifesavers Raj Singh and Vikas Salgaonkar rushed with rescue tubes, while Roshan Kharade and Srinath Lonekar assisted with a rescue board and tube to bring the couple safely back to shore.
Drishti Marine officials said both incidents highlight the quick response and coordinated efforts of lifesavers deployed across Goa’s beaches.
