PANAJI: Drishti Marine, whose lifeguards are manning the Goa’s coastline, has warned that the weather is not conducive for swimming and as such the waves could rise as high as 18 feet.
In a statement here, Drishti has said that the State is moving towards the wettest weeks of the season; monsoon showers and water conditions at Vagator, Baga, Arambol, Rajbag and Calangute.
“Waves today, the most frequent height will be 4 foot, significant waves come 1 in 7, will be 9 foot, and the maximum height waves which come in three times in 24 hours are expected at 18 feet,” it said.
Further, it warned that today’s tidal coefficient is at a high value of 84 which means the currents will be strong.
“Stay Safe. Please keep a lifeguard in your sights when at the beach,” it said.
