OLD GOA: The Old Goa Police have registered a case against a 32-year-old Breeza car driver for rash and negligent driving that led to a multi-vehicle collision, injuring two riders at Dhauji Road earlier this week.
Old Goa PS registered Cr. No. 138/2025 on December 10 at 7.11 pm under Sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, based on a complaint filed by HC Rajan Upa Zalmi.
According to police, the incident occurred on December 8 at around 9.45 am when the accused, Peter Gonsalves, resident of Agacaim, was driving a Breeza (GA 07 P 3940) from Marcel towards Old Goa. Near Darya Deger Hotel, Dhauji Road, he allegedly drove in a rash and negligent manner and rammed into a Jupiter scooter (GA 07 AE 5878) from behind.
The impact caused the scooter to collide with an oncoming Innova (GA 07 G 5757), while the Breeza further crashed into a Wagon R (GA 04 E 2168) travelling ahead, police said.
The Jupiter scooter rider Treyesh Badger (22) and pillion Swati Badger (27), both residents of Ganesh Nagar, Marcel, sustained injuries in the crash. They were shifted to GMC Bambolim, treated and discharged. Further investigation is underway.
