CURCHOREM: Curchorem police have registered a case in connection with a road accident caused by alleged rash and negligent driving, which left the driver of a Wagon-R car injured.
According to police, Curchorem Police Station registered Crime No. 01/2026 under Sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, based on a state complaint filed by HC 4655 Shrikrishna Naik.
The complaint states that on January 19, 2026, at around 11.45 am, the accused driver of a Wagon-R car, identified as Victor D’Costa, a resident of Pongirwal, Kakoda, Curchorem, was driving in a rash and negligent manner without due care and caution, endangering human life.
While proceeding from Chandor towards Curchorem, and upon reaching near the Shantadurga service centre, the driver allegedly entered the wrong lane and collided with a Swaraj Mazda tempo.
As a result of the collision, the Wagon-R driver Victor D’Costa sustained injuries.
Police said further investigation in the matter is being carried out by HC 4655 Shrikrishna Naik of Curchorem Police Station.
