CURCHOREM: Self accident was reported at Anmod ghat; the driver of a goods carrier truck lost control over the vehicle due to heavy rains, resulting in the vehicle being overturned. Curchorem fire brigade reached the spot and rescued the trapped driver.
Curchorem fire brigade in charge Damodar Zambaulikar said that Curchorem fire brigade reached the site and saved the life of driver Nagesh Lokpa (25), who was badly trapped in the cabin of a goods carrier truck in a self accident yesterday afternoon, between 3 to 3.30pm at Anmod Ghat.
Zambaulikar said that the vehicle coming from Khanapur to Vasco-Goa slipped on the slippery road, and the driver lost control over the truck, which led to the vehicle overturning at the roadside of the Ghat.
He further said that we found that the vehicle’s driver was completely trapped and could not move out of the cabin due to serious injuries to his leg and arm.
The fire brigade team cut with cabin with the hydraulic machinery and then rescued the driver, who was referred to the hospital in Ponda.
