SIOLIM: In an early morning operation, the Anti-Narcotic Cell of Goa Police conducted a narcotic raid at Siolim and arrested a Nigerian National for being in possession of narcotics i.e. cocaine and Ecstacy powder W/Rs.4.6 lakhs.
The Nigerian identified as Innocent Nzedigwe, 23 yrs, was under the radar of the ANC sleuths from the past days.
The ANC received a tip off that a Nigerian was going to come near Siolim bridge to deliver the contraband. The ANC officials further laid a trap and with human intelligence and technical surveillance, arrested the accused.
The Narcotic sleuths seized 40 grams of Cocaine and 6 grams of Ecstacy powder all W/Rs.4.60 lakhs was seized from his possession.
Initial interrogation of the accused revealed that he had arrived in India a year ago on a student and enrolled himself for BBA at a University in Ajmer, Rajasthan.
Further investigation has revealed that the Nigerian is holding a valid passport and Visa and the documentation regarding his stay like Police verification/C-Form was found legitimate.
The ANC in the present year till date have seized narcotics worth more than Rs.5.30 crores and are going all out against Narco offenders especially ahead of the on-coming tourist season.
