ANJUNA: In a major crackdown on narcotics, the Crime Branch Police Station in Anjuna, Bardez, arrested two individuals following a raid conducted in the early hours of March 14, 2026. Acting on specific intelligence, officials raided a room at Mazalwada in Anjuna and recovered 1.5 kilograms of ganja valued at ₹1,40,000.
The drugs were seized from the possession of Loknath Haldar (21), a native of Rampurhat in West Bengal, who is currently residing in Anjuna. A case was registered against him under Section 20(b)(ii)(B) of the NDPS Act, 1985. He was subsequently produced before the JMFC court in Mapusa and remanded to seven days of police custody.

He was produced before the JMFC court and remanded to five days of police custody.
Police have also invoked Section 29 of the NDPS Act in the case, indicating a larger conspiracy. Both accused are currently being interrogated as part of an ongoing investigation.
