Panaji: Goa Forward Party chief and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai on Tuesday raised alarm over the growing drug menace in the State’s hinterlands, alleging that enforcement remains superficial and selective.
“Most of the drugs are sold before seizures take place. Police only catch users, not the real suppliers,” Sardesai said in the Assembly, expressing concern over the deepening drug network beyond coastal areas.
He also hinted at a political nexus, citing past revelations by former minister Mickky Pacheco. “The issue is systemic and needs urgent, honest intervention,” he said.
