PANAJI: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has registered Revolutionary Goans as a political party. The party is now called as Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP).
ECI, after successful registration, has alloted the “Football” symbol to the party ahead of the Goa Assembly Elections.
“Its a good news today that Revolutionary Goans Party has been registered by the Election Commission of India; we have got football as our party symbol; all doubts have been cleared in respect to our party,” said RG Chief Manoj Parab.
He further said that Revolutionary Goans (RG) had decided to join the political league by contesting the 2022 general Assembly elections on all 40 seats under the banner of Goa Su-Raj Party (GSRP) earlier. At a public meeting at Azad Maidan on Sunday, RG Founder Manoj Parab said they will field candidates in all 40 constituencies by December 15.
Parab also mentioned that RG will run candidates in all forty constituencies without forming any alliance with any other political party.
“Today, the time has come to say that Goans are not helpless; we are revolutionary. We will save our Goa. It is time for Goans to get out of slavery to people from states. There are dalals today who are running from one party to the other. They don’t have principles; they don’t have an ideology,” Parab said.
In February 2021, Revolutionary Goans applied to the Election Commission to be registered as a political party. However, he claims that the registration processes were not completed even after 7 months of filing the application with the chief electoral officer in New Delhi.
