Panaji: In a significant push to boost Goa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Tuesday sanctioned new loan proposals worth ₹40 crore and gave in-principle approval to the Mukhyamantri Rozgar Yojana during the 404th Board Meeting of EDC Limited held at EDC House, Panaji.
The Chief Minister also approved the corporation’s financials for FY 2024–25, with EDC reporting a revenue of ₹111.47 crore, a profit of ₹81.27 crore, a gross NPA of less than 0.25%, and a net worth of ₹840 crore.
A key highlight of the meeting was the approval of a collaborative initiative with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) to train faculty from government colleges and higher secondary schools in entrepreneurial education.
Dr. Sawant reviewed and commended the work of the Goa Chapter of EDII for its role in fostering entrepreneurship across the state.
He further directed EDC to formulate new, tailor-made loan schemes for Goan businesses and simplify access to existing financial schemes to ensure greater inclusion.
Reaffirming his government’s vision, the Chief Minister said the State is committed to building a robust, inclusive, and self-reliant Goan economy.
