EIA studies are in process for proposed 250TPD SWTP at Verna: Lobo

PANAJI: Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo said that the state government had proposed a 250 TPD Solid Waste Treatment plant at Verna, for which the EIA studies are in process.
“We have proposed a 250 TPD Solid Waste Treatment plant at Verna. Status: EIA studies are in process,” said Lobo.
He further said that a 100TPD Solid Waste Treatment plant at Cacora will be coming up for which Civil works are in progress. Also, Expansion of the Saligao 150TPD plant to 250 TPD capacity is being done, for which Civil works are in progress.
“250TPD Solid Waste Treatment plant at Bainguinim. Status: RFQ has been floated on 27/07/2021, and opening of RFQ is scheduled on 22/10/2021,” he added.
Meanwhile, Lobo said that only one Solid Waste Management Plant had been set up at Saligao of capacity 150 TPD.
