VASCO: Eight days after the incident, the family members of the missing crew members of the barge Shri Krishna went missing off Goa Coast struggle for justice in Goa.
After spending all the money and running from pillar to post, they appeal to the authorities to continue the search operations.
“All we need is at least the dead bodies of the missing crew,” says Abu Mohsin Mulla, the brother of Ali Mohammed, the captain of the ill-fated barge.

MV Shri Krishna 8 barge disappeared at sea amid inclement weather on December 2, four of its crew members remain untraced. Neither the barge, nor its debris, has been sighted at sea even as Coast guard search operations that continued through Sunday are expected to continue on Monday.
“Our surface and aerial search operations have been going on throughout the day. We usually close search operations after 72 hours but we have decided to go beyond in this case,” said Arunabh Bose, Deputy Inspector General, Indian Coast Guard.
On December 2, the barge carrying iron ore set sail for Goa from the Jaigarh Port in Maharashtra was met with heavy rain and strong sea currents at about 2 am. According to Coast Guard officials, after encountering rough weather at night, the barge is suspected to have capsized. According to accounts of survivors, who were rescued after swimming for over 30 hours in the Arabian Sea, amid pounding rain, massive waves had hit the vessel and crew members had reached for life jackets before the waves flung them into the sea.
