CANACONA: In a move that comes despite strong local opposition and recent gram sabha resolutions restricting plateau development to traditional agricultural use, eight communidade plots in Loliem-Polem have been demarcated for M/s Mallikarjun Multi-Fruits Processing Producers Co. Ltd (MMFPPCL) at Madditolop.
The joint inspection on Monday was conducted by the Administrator of Communidade (South Zone), a surveyor appointed by the Loliem-Polem Communidade, the Communidade Attorney, Escrivao (clerk), and a company director.
Those present included Communidade Administrator (South Zone) Prajeet Chodankar, Loliem-Polem Communidade President Vishwajit Varik, Attorney Bhushan Prabhu Gaonkar, Treasurer Madhav Shastri, Clerk Naresh Desai, Escrivao Uday Desai, and MMFPPCL Director Rajendra Borkar.
President Varik said the plots fall under Survey No. 358/1 and the inspection report will be forwarded to the Revenue Department for further processing. He described the development as a step towards facilitating the company’s operations and boosting local economic growth.
MMFPPCL, incorporated on August 23, 2021, is registered at Ruby Residency, Chaudi, Canacona. Its directors include Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Bombo Tawadkar, Ashok Arjun Velip, Rajendra Hari Borkar (PS to Speaker), Ramakant Tilu Gaonkar, and Upasso Gaunkar.
