COLVA: An 80-year-old Danish national was found dead inside his flat at Palm Crest, Fatona, Colva, on the afternoon of January 15, 2026, after authorities were alerted about a foul smell from the premises.
According to police, at around 3.38 pm, a call was received from 108 Ambulance staff reporting a strong odour emanating from a flat at Palm Crest. Police immediately visited the spot and, during the enquiry, found a man lying inside the bathroom of the flat.
After verification, the 108 Ambulance staff declared the person dead. The deceased was later identified as Niels Jorgen Jensen (80), a Danish national.
Police conducted a scene of unnatural death (UD) occurrence panchanama, and the body was preserved at South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, for further medico-legal formalities.
Further enquiry in the case is being carried out by PSI Prathamesh Mahale of Colva Police Station.
