MANDREM: Mandrem Police have registered an unnatural death case after an elderly man accidentally fell into a well at Chonsai, Parsem in Pernem taluka.
According to police, Mandrem Police Station registered U.D. No. 55/2025 under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) on December 22, 2025, at around 5.40 pm, following information received from Police Constable Rajesh Padolkar (Buckle No. 6734), attached to Robot 19 vehicle.
Police rushed to the spot at Chonsai, Parsem, Pernem, where it was revealed that the deceased, identified as Ankush Naik (82), son of Dhaku Naik and a resident of H. No. 567/A, Chonsai, Parsem, was fetching water from the well at around 1.30 pm on the same day. Due to his advanced age, he reportedly lost balance and accidentally fell into the well.
Police have stated that no foul play is suspected in the incident. Further investigation is in progress and is being carried out by PSI Sarvesh R. Sawant of Mandrem Police Station.
