MARDOL: An 83-year-old woman, identified as Vasanti Mardolkar, a resident of Mardol, Ponda, passed away while undergoing treatment at GMC Bambolim on the night of October 25, 2025.
According to Mardol Police, a wireless message was received from the GMC casualty unit around 10:30 p.m., informing them of the death.
During the inquiry, family members informed police that the deceased had been suffering from age-related ailments and had recently developed breathing difficulties, for which she had been admitted to the hospital.
An inquest panchanama was conducted, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination at GMC Bambolim.
The police surgeon certified the cause of death as “bilateral lobar pneumonia in a person with diseased kidneys.”
After completion of legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family for final rites. The enquiry has been conducted by PSI Rochan Martins of Mardol Police Station.
