CANACONA: South Goa Communidade Administrator Mangaldas Gaonkar has announced the elections for all the Six (6) Communidade bodies in Canacona taluka.
Canacona Communidade, known as one of the important and largely contested Communidade institutions owning vast tracts of lands in the taluka with elect its new body has the largest eligible voters of 492 members.
Elections of Nagarcem –Palolem Communidade in Canacona taluka will be held on December 15 at 10 am. The elections will be held in the auditorium of Sri Nirakar Devalaya in Bhagatwada. This comunidad has 435 members.
Similarly, Poinguinim Communidade with 130 members will hold its election on December 22 at 10 am at Poinguinim.
The Loliem-Polem Communidade with 127 eligible voters, election will be held on December 29 at 10 am in Loliem village.
The Khola Communidade having 70 members eligible to vote will have its election on January 5.
The election of Gaondongrim Communidade with 51 members will be held on January 5 in Gaondongrim village.
Interestingly, the Canacona communidade with largest eligible voters of 492 members covers Agonda and Shristhal villages of Canacona taluka having vast lands, mostly eyed by many of the members to get elected in the committee.
