CANACONA: A 46-year-old electrician was found dead in a rented room at Agonda on Tuesday morning (November 11, 2025). Police have registered a case of unnatural death and are conducting further inquiries to ascertain the cause.
According to Canacona Police, a call was received around 10:23 am informing that a man was found lying motionless at Goan Chilly Restaurant, Agonda. Upon visiting the spot, police identified the deceased as Sunil Kumar Patel (46), a native of Uttar Pradesh and resident of Agonda, who was staying in a rented room owned by Uttam Agondekar.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that Patel, an electrician by profession, had arrived in Goa on November 3, 2025, to work at Agondekar’s restaurant at Dumane, Agonda.
Police conducted an inquest panchanama over the body, which has been preserved at South Goa District Hospital, Margao, for medico-legal examination.
PSI Babu Dessai of Canacona Police Station is conducting further investigation under UD No. 30/2025 u/s 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023.
