PANAJI: Ambelim Sports Club delivered a strong all round performance to defeat Laxmiprasad SC 4-0 and secure a place in the Under 14 GFA Girls Football Tournament final in Canacona.
The first half remained tightly contested with both teams displaying disciplined defending, resulting in a goalless scoreline at the break. Laxmiprasad SC attempted to break through, but Ambelim’s defence led by Avan Velip, Saima Pagi, Kanchan Velip and Reeva Fernandes stood firm and cleared every attacking threat.
Ambelim returned after the break with greater attacking intent and soon took control of the match. The breakthrough came in the 36th minute when Vardhana Velip calmly finished to give her side the lead.
The advantage doubled in the 40th minute as Elora Crasto scored with a well taken strike. Ambelim continued to dominate and in the 46th minute Uriel Fernandes produced a fine individual run, dribbling past defenders before making it 3-0.
Elora Crasto completed the scoring in the 55th minute when she finished from a precise cross delivered by Valaika Monteiro, sealing a convincing 4-0 victory.
With solid defending and an impressive attacking display, Ambelim Sports Club marched into the final with confidence after a dominant performance.
