CANACONA: A reported receipt of an unknown email to Canacona RTO has created a a flutter amidst claims of plantation of a Bomb in the Transport Office situated at KTC Bus-Stand complex, Chaudi – Canacona on Monday afternoon.
The email led to shut-down of the Canaocna RTO office and the entire KTC Bus-Stand complex at Chaudi-Canacona on Monday afternoon, till a requisitioned bomb squad gave an all clear signal, certifying no bomb threat at the busiest and heavily public visited location of Canacona.
According to sources, an email received at the official handle of Assistant Director of Transport (ADT), Canacona came to light at about 12.30 pm on Monday that a bomb has been planted and the office will be blown off by 2.30 pm. The Canaocna Transport (RTO) Office is situated in the KTC Bus-Stand complex at Chaudi.
ADT in a swift move reportedly informed Canacona Police about the receipt of the email and the threat thereof. Not to take any chance, Canacona police accordingly alerted the higher-ups and requisitioned the bomb defusing squad which soon descended along with a Dog Squad and Forensic Experts Team to investigate the threat.
Immediately, the entire ADT office was vacated and the KTC complex is cordoned-off, as the Bomb squad with the help of a sniffer dog inspected the entire ADT office situated on one side of the first floor of the KTC Bus-Stand complex, and later took the search on the ground floor where shops are located and an open public space, besides, the interior of KTC complex where Buses are located/stationed and parked vehicles in and around the surroundings of the complex.
Nothing incriminating nor any likewise is either sniffed by the dogs or came to the notice of the forensic experts or Bomb squad team members.
After a thorough check and investigation, the bomb squad later reportedly gave a clean chit and permitted free movement of staff/public (people) in and around the ADT office and the entire KTC complex.

According to reliable sources, the investigation into the receipt of email from the suspicious source is reportedly handed over to the Cyber Crime cell for further investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, Canacona ADT stating the email received is made over to police remained tight-lipped and refused to speak anything else to the media, as also stating the email in question is made –over to Cyber Crime cell to investigate and requisitioned Bomb Squad found nothing incriminating, Canacona police refused to divulge on the source of email or any further information of the incident.
