In a vibrant celebration of rural entrepreneurship and cultural heritage, the “Swayampurna Goa SARAS 2025” exhibition commenced on March 6, 2025, in Panaji, Goa. This ten-day event, running until March 16, is a collaborative effort between the Goa State Rural Livelihood Mission (GSRLM) and Swayampurna Goa – CSR Authority of Goa. The event aims to empower rural artisans and entrepreneurs, particularly women, by providing a platform to showcase and market their handmade products.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated the event, emphasizing the government’s commitment to supporting rural producers and artisans. He highlighted various schemes implemented to encourage women entrepreneurship, urging participants to take advantage of these initiatives to become self-reliant. The Minister for Rural Development, Shri Govind Gaude, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the government’s vision to empower women entrepreneurs and promote rural culture.
The exhibition features a diverse array of products, including coconut shell crafts, jute bags, traditional Goan snacks, Kunbi sarees, and home textiles. A total of 500 stalls have been set up, with 120 allocated to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and 205 to local SHGs from Goa. Visitors can also enjoy a culinary experience at the 26 food stalls. To incentivize shopping, a lucky draw for a two-wheeler is offered to customers who spend over Rs. 2,000 at a single stall.
