CANACONA: An empty trailer veered –off the straight 4-lane NH-66 road and rests below the wide road at Majali-Karwar, near the Goa border of Karnataka State on Friday-Saturday midnight.
The Driver and the Cleaner escaped unhurt, but the driver reportedly scolded by the trailer-truck owner ran away from the spot, leaving only the Cleaner at the site of the mishap.
According to the Cleaner, when informed about the mishap that left the trailer veered-off the wide 4-lane NH66 and the damaged trailer landed below the road , the owner reportedly scolded the driver making him responsible for the mishap.
The cleaner speaking to reporters informed that at about 2.30 am on Friday-Saturday night, something came on the middle of the one-way road and in order to save it the driver applies brakes due to which the trailer suddenly veered off the road and turned L-shaped before going over the road and rested down the roadside bushes.
According to the cleaner, when the driver informed that due to the mishap the trailer landed off the road, the owner blaming the driver for the mishap threatened to beat him up and due to that fear the driver has escaped leaving him behind.
