PANAJI: EMRI’s 108 ambulance service will be deploying bike ambulances at Mapusa, Panjim, Porvorim, Ponda ,Margao and Vasco on Nov 11 in view of probable medical emergencies during Narakasur effigy burning.
Bike ambulances will be available from 6pm to 12am.
The bike ambulances will be deployed for quick access to first aid and advanced life support (ALS) ambulances.
“A bike ambulance will be assigned when people call 108,” a 108 EMRI official said. “The bike ambulance will provide first aid and stabilise the patient. If the injury is serious, a conventional ambulance will be dispatched.”
The bike ambulances are equipped with first-aid kits, oxygen, splints, dressing material, and IV fluids, the official said.
“ALS ambulances will be relocated to spots where they are required,” he said.
