PANAJI: Goan engineering and ITI students will now have access to hands-on learning thanks to a partnership between the Directorate of Technical Education and the non-profit learning platform EduSkills Foundation. In an effort to prepare engineering college students for the workforce and develop a talent pool in Goa, EduSkills will offer virtual internships.
Following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated, “The government of Goa is enthusiastic about utilising EduSkills’ extensive industry connections, which encompass over 200 companies, and their proficiency in skills training to improve the career readiness of young engineers in Goa.”
“The youth of Goa will have the chance to gain practical learning experiences through virtual internships through this Memorandum of Understanding, improving their employability.”
In addition to training students, EduSkills will support faculty at engineering colleges, ITIs, and technical diploma programs by building their infrastructure and capacity.
Our Goan youth will ultimately profit from this training. For hiring purposes, more than 200 businesses nationwide have partnered with EduSkills, according to Sawant. “The Government of India has expressed appreciation for this programme.”
Sawant also introduced the Swayampurna Goa e-Bazaar portal, which enables nearby artisans and self-help groups to conduct online business. Swayampurna Goa e-Bazaar vendors and self-help groups (SHGs) have registered on the platform.
“In order to enable them, free training on labeling, packaging, and obtaining licenses from the Food and Drug Administration, guaranteeing quality and compliance with regulations, was provided to vendors, artisans, and craftsmen,” stated Sawant.
SHGs can now be found on the Swayampurna Goa e-Bazaar portal thanks to the initiative of the Directorate of Planning and Statistics.
Goa has about 12,000 artisans and several thousand Self-Help Groups. With their cooperation, the government intends to use the e-Bazaar to promote their goods.
