PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that going paperless is the need of the hour.
He was speaking during Goa Legislator’s Day program today.
“For a progressive state like Goa, going paperless is need of the hours. Speaker of the State legislative assembly should look into the technicalities and ensure that the working of the assembly remains paperless,” said CM Pramod Sawant
He further said that recently some legislators have been asking for piles of papers.
“If there are any technical issues, speaker should look into it,” said Sawant.
Sawant also asserted that his government is doing uniform development across all 40 constituencies without discriminating between ruling and opposition and asked the legislators to bring to his notice discrepancies, if any.
The New Assembly complex at Porvorim was inaugurated on March 5, 2000 when Francisco Sardinha was the Chief Minister.
Dr Pramod Sawant said that the Goa Legislative Assembly became the first in the State to go completely paperless in 2014, when Rajendra Arlekar was the Speaker. Arlekar, who is now the Governor of Himachal Pradesh was also present.
