PANAJI: Entrepreneur and social worker Pascal Fernandes from Corlim formally joined the Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday, marking his entry into active politics.
Pascal, who is associated with Jaycees, Lions Club, IMC and ITI Altinho, Panjim, announced his decision at a press interaction in Panjim.
“AAP is the only party fighting against the BJP. This is the first time I am joining any political party,” he said, adding that the party’s focus on healthcare and education inspired his move.
“AAP has consistently worked for the larger good of the people, and that is what motivates me.”
Welcoming him, AAP Working President and National Spokesperson Valmiki Naik said Pascal’s entry signalled growing public faith in the party.
“New entrants into politics choosing AAP reflects our intent and commitment to the betterment of Goa,” Naik said.
AAP Joint Secretary Manoj Ghadi Amonkar added that Pascal’s joining would further strengthen the party’s organisation and outreach in Corlim.
