Panaji: The Economic Offences Cell (EOC) is probing allegations of cheating and criminal breach of trust against the office bearers of M/s Hariom Multistate Co-operative Credit Society Ltd., following complaints of large-scale investor fraud.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that between 2016 and November 2022, investors were allegedly induced to invest in recurring and fixed deposits with promises of high returns. In connection with the case, an EOC team led by PI Nilesh Shirodkar arrested Shivaji Kisan Jadhav, the then Chairman of M/s Hariom Multistate Co-operative Credit Society Ltd., on January 22, 2026. He has been remanded to 14 days of police custody.
