CANACONA: Ex-Khola ZP member Krishna Velip is elected unopposed as the new sarpanch of Khola village on Thursday.
Post of Khola Sarpanch felt vacant after the incumbent Ajay Pagi resigned on completion of 1 year in office as per understanding amongst the 9-member panchayat during formation of the panchayat after general panchayat elections last year.
As agreed, the post of Khola Sarpanch will be rotated amongst four top notch panch claimants and Krishna Velip is elected unopposed in the second year of this term.
Incidentally, all the eight other panch members including Dy. Sarpanch Pandhari Prabhudessai were present, besides Khola ZP member Shanu Velip and Ex-Dy. Chief Minister/Ex-Quepem MLA and BJP Vice-President Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar.
Incidentally, after resignation of Krupesh Veip from the post of Dy. Sarpanch , Pandhari Prabhudessai is elected to the Deputy’s post last month.
Krishna Velip, an Ex-ZP Member (Khola) and running a Education society (having a High-School) will occupy the Sarpanch chair for the next one year, sources informed.
Kavlekar assured all support to continue with the development of Khola village stating the existing proposals will be delivered in a time farme manner to give a boost to Khola village.
A mini-garbage compactor is also inaugurated soon after as the newly elected sarpanch Velip informed panchayat will see the cleanliness is maintained in the entire village.
Severla supporters and well wishers of Krishna Velip also made a beeline to wish the new sarpanch of khola village
