VALPOI: It seemed like a story directly picked from a Bollywood flick wherein the lady from Saleli, Sattari stole a one month old baby boy from Goa Medical College.
The lady was arrested by Goa Police from Saleli this evening.
During police interrogation the lady confessed to the crime.
However, there is another angle to the story here.
The lady named Vishanti Gawas from Saleli told police that she had four daughters and was always taunted by neighbours and relatives.
She desperately needed a baby boy.
This time during her pregnancy, she told her husband she would stay away due to COVID19 at mother’s place.
Hence, she stayed at the GMC and found this one month old baby.
She told her husband about the birth of baby boy.
Police are still investigating what she was doing at GMC and what happened to her baby if she was pregnant.
Almost 24 hours after the incident was reported, the police traced and arrested the kidnapper woman and rescued the infant baby, who was allegedly kidnapped from the premise of Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) yesterday.
The lady along with the baby was found at Saleli village in Valpoi, from where she originally belong from.
As per police, the kidnapper woman claims that the child is her own.
In order to ascertain the biological mother of the child, the police to conducted medical examination of both thr woman- including the Orissa based woman, who claimed to be the mother.
The kidnapping case against unknown woman was initially registered by the Agassaim police.
The incident was reported on Friday evening after the mother of the baby, who is from Orissa, who informed that a unknown lady ran away with her child.
The Agassaim, Panaji and Old Goa police along with Crime Branch team launched massive hunt for the accused lady.
