PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant to has asked the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) to take the remaining work of Atal Setu on war footing.
CM Sawant today chaired the GSIDC board meeting to take review of the projects of GSIDC.
“I have asked GSIDC to take the remaining work of Atal Setu on war footing,” said CM Sawant
He further informed that the entire stretch of Atal Setu Bridge would be completed by December 2021.
Construction of the bridge began in 2014 after Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid down the foundation stone of the bridge. The bridge connects areas from Pundalik Nagar to Merces Junction and covers a length of 5.13 kilometers.
Earlier, the company was also summoned to repair the issues on the up ramp from Merces circle. Because of the problems on this road, the vehicles bound for Porvorim were facing many difficulties. While temporary measures were deployed previously to get rid of the potholes, there was an urgent need for a long-term solution.
