MAPUSA: Acting in close coordination with Delhi Police, a team from Mapusa Police Station of North District has arrested a prime accused in an extortion case.
Earlier, this accused while being brought from New Delhi to Goa, had escaped Police custody by pushing Goa Police and CISF staff at Mumbai Airport.
The accused had since then was evading arrest and was constantly shifting his residence and location.
On Saturday, the Mapusa Police Station successfully traced and arrested Imad Khan, S/o Wasim Khan, N/o Mohalla Maniharan, Behat, Saharanpur accused in Mapusa PS Crime No. 36/2024 U/sec 342, 170, 323, 506(ii), 389 read with 34 IPC, with the support of the Crime Branch of Delhi Police.
During an extensive investigation, the Mapusa Police team gathered crucial intelligence on the accused.
Realizing the accused’s movements extended beyond Goa, the team promptly coordinated with the Cyber Cell Crime Branch in Delhi, sharing key details and ensuring swift action.
Acting on the inputs provided by Mapusa Police, the Cyber Cell Crime Branch conducted rigorous technical analysis and relentless efforts, successfully tracing Imad Khan, S/o Wasim Khan, N/o Mohalla Maniharan, Behat, Saharanpur.
Additionally, the accused is also wanted in Sahar PS Crime No. 583/2024 U/sec 323 and 224 IPC by Mumbai Police.
It is worth mentioning that earlier in the extortion case, following Persons Bhuvan Arora ,Nivedita Sharma, Mohammad Basit, Faizan Khan and Yasar Khan have already been arrested in Mapusa PS crime No. 36/2024 U/sec 342, 170, 323, 506 (ii), 389 read with 34 IPC.
