CANACONA: Canacona Police have arrested all the three accused in the Cash for PWD Engineer Job scam of Canacona.
According to Canacona police, Mithil Chari, resident of Mahalwada (Poinguinim), Pritesh Chari resident of Iddar (Loliem) and the third accused kingpin from Margao Parag Raikar were apprehended and arrested in the crime of providing Government Job (post of Engineer in PWD) on 25th October. The JMFC court, Canacona released all the three accused’s on personal bonds of Rs.10,000/- each, and further directed to report at Canacona Police Station for 10 days for investigation purpose.
It may be noted that Nisha Chari a resident of Iddar(Loliem) has complained that the three accused’s had connived with their common intention to induce her to pay an amount of Rs.15,00000/- Fifteen Lakhs) under the pretext of offering government job for the post of Civil Engineer in PWD to the brother-in-law of the complainant and the amounts of Rs 6,00,000/- twice were paid on different occasions to Pritesh Chari’s account from the bank account of the complainant and to Mithil Chari’s Bank account from the Bank account of complainants husband and the remaining amount of Rs 3,00,000/- was given partly in cash and partly through net banking to Mithil Chari.
Police through investigation however, found the total amount of 1500000/-(Rupees Fifteen lakhs) is transferred to one Parag Raikar who is a resident of Margao, allegedly the mastermind in the government Job offer on cash for the purpose of providing Government Job. Sources further informed that the accused Parag Raikar of Margao in to whom the amounts have been transferred by two of the Canacona based accused’s is reportedly BJP party’s OBC Cell leader.
Police however tightlipped whether any amounts of 15L cash transactions is recovered from the mastermind or the two other accused’s. Even though police investigations have tracked the sources of channeling the amount of 15L to the Margao resident (Parag Raikar), who is reportedly BJP party’s OBC Cell leader, the amounts is yet to be recovered. According to Canacona PI Harish Raut Desai stating investigation is progressing in the right direction, stated that properties of all the three accused’s will be attached if they fail to return back the amounts of 15L already transferred in their (accused) accounts by the complainant (Nisha Chari) to provide government job of Civil Engineer in PWD to her brother in law Vidhyaraj Chari. PSI Canacona Police Station Babu Dessai is conducting further investigation.
