CALANGUTE: A case of robbery has been registered at Calangute Police Station after a 26-year-old farmer from Maharashtra was allegedly assaulted and robbed by four men in the early hours of June 14.
As per the complaint filed by Mallappa Saibana Athani, a resident of Ubrani, Jath, Sangli (Maharashtra), the incident occurred around 3:00 am near the Bandodkar Statue in Calangute.
The accused, identified as Mohammad Salman, Vijay Kumar, Avinash, and Deepak Roul, allegedly confronted him with the intent to commit robbery.
The complainant stated that the accused slapped him and forcefully took away his mobile phone, wallet containing ₹1,700, and **identity documents.
Following the complaint, Calangute Police registered the offence at 11:52 pm on June 14, 2025.
