PANAJI: The Department of Agriculture, Government of Goa, has issued a directive urging all farmers to update their Aadhaar-seeded bank account details in their Krishi cards to ensure seamless disbursement of government subsidies.
As per the circular, farmers are required to submit a copy of the mandate form in the prescribed format along with their bank passbook or a cancelled cheque to their respective Zonal Agriculture Office.
The move comes in line with the government’s decision to process all payments to beneficiaries under state sector schemes exclusively through the Aadhaar Payment Bridge (APB) system. This system facilitates direct electronic transfer of subsidies and benefits into the bank accounts linked with the beneficiaries’ Aadhaar numbers, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
Authorities have clarified that only the last bank account seeded with Aadhaar will be eligible for receiving subsidies. If a farmer updates their Aadhaar linkage in a different bank account, the new account will automatically become the one eligible for government benefits.
Farmers are advised to immediately inform their Zonal Agriculture Office of any such changes to enable prompt updating of their Krishi card.
