PONDA: Goa Dairy Farmers have demanded before Government to hand over its charge of Goa Dairy to Dairy Farmers and Conduct BoD Election so that farmers rule Goa Dairy.
Former Chairman and farmer Anup Desai and Sanjeev Cuncolienkar claimed that the excess recruitment of staff in Goa Dairy by the Government would put a financial burden on Goa Dairy and Dairy, which is already in losses would soon become another case like Sanjivani Sugar Factory.
He claimed that there are 30 new staff recruited in Goa Dairy recently.
The Government is now using Sanjivani factory land for other purposes; he feared that it would grab Goa Dairy and Veterinary Department land at Curti.
Anup Desai said on the backdrop of the removal of the administrator, he called urgent press briefing. He said Goa Dairy is in losses today. As far as the removal of administrator Durgesh Shirodkar, he said there would be no major impact.
He said Goa Dairy still runs in losses. He said no point in Rs 3.75 crore Profit claimed by former administrator Durgesh Shirodkar, who is removed by RCS.
The two years account statements are still not given approval in AGM. Similarly, two AGMs are not still held. How can he claim profit? He neither made profit nor losses,” Desai said.
He further said Government is tightening its hold on Goa Dairy. However, Goa Dairy belongs to farmers. The Government should leave its Control over Goa Dairy and Conduct Goa Dairy BoD Election or else Goa Dairy would face trouble if government officials had no experience in the cooperative field are appointed to it as administrator position.
Desai said though around 8 BODs are disqualified by RCS on mismanagement, there are four BODs, and they should be given charge to run it instead of managing by the Government.
