PERNEM: In a tragic incident that occurred near a petrol pump in Tuye, a head-on collision between a car and a motorcycle resulted in the immediate death of 25-year-old Raj Pednekar.
The accident happened when the car, an Artica GA 11, T 16 72, was attempting to turn towards the petrol pump, which was closed at the time.
According to the details, the car was making a turn towards the petrol pump to refuel, but since the pump was closed, the driver had to reverse direction. Meanwhile, Raj Pednekar was riding his motorcycle, GE Zero Three, AK 61 25, on the same road. The sudden and unexpected turn by the car led to a severe collision, as neither vehicle anticipated the other’s movement. This resulted in a fatal impact that claimed Pednekar’s life on the spot.
Raj Pednekar, originally from Bicholi, was residing in Shivoli with his mother and brother. His father had passed away, and his brother is currently pursuing his 12th standard education. Pednekar had previously worked at a garage before the incident.
Upon receiving the news, the Mandre police promptly arrived at the scene and conducted a thorough investigation. They arrested the car driver, Saurav Gudhekar from Nemle Vengurla, in connection with the accident.
