Saligao: A father and his son were allegedly assaulted by a group of men following a heated argument over rent-a-bike business dealings at Saligao on Sunday evening.
According to police sources, the incident occurred near the Grand Morod area of Saligao, where a dispute between the parties reportedly escalated into a physical attack. The complainant stated that the accused persons assaulted him and his father with fists and kicks during the altercation and also allegedly issued death threats.
CCTV footage of the incident, which has since surfaced, shows multiple individuals attacking the victims and pushing one of them to the ground. Both the father and son sustained injuries in the assault and were shifted to hospital for medical treatment.
Police have registered a complaint in the matter and initiated an investigation to identify and trace all those involved in the attack. Further action will be taken after verifying CCTV footage and recording statements of witnesses.
The incident is believed to have been triggered by business rivalry related to the rent-a-bike trade in the area. Police have stated that no arrests had been made at the time of filing this report.
