PERNEM: A shocking incident of assault and vandalism was reported at the Block Development Office (BDO) in Pernem on Wednesday, where a father-son duo from Delhi allegedly forced their way into the premises and physically attacked Morjim Panchayat Secretary Sachin Dhavaskar.
According to official sources, the duo not only assaulted Dhavaskar but also caused significant damage to government property. Several glass partitions inside the office were reportedly shattered during the incident.
The exact motive behind the attack remains unclear, although preliminary information indicates that a verbal dispute may have escalated into physical violence. Both Dhavaskar and the accused sustained injuries and were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Local police have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC and have launched an investigation into the matter.
