FATORDA: In the Chandrawada-Fatorda double murder case, South Goa Additional Sessions Judge Pooja Kavalekar has convicted accused Ravinkumar Sada and Akash Ghosh. Arguments on their sentencing will be held on December 17.
The incident took place on March 8, 2021, when the accused, along with a juvenile accomplice, murdered Miguel Miranda and his mother-in-law Catarina Pinto. The accused were staying as tenants at Miguel’s house and also worked as labourers under him. A dispute over wages led to the crime, which the prosecution proved with strong evidence and testimonies of 24 witnesses.
The case was investigated by then Fatorda PI Kapil Naik. The juvenile accused is being tried separately in the Juvenile Justice Court.
