PANAJI: FC Goa lifted their second Kalinga Super Cup title in style, cruising to a dominant 3–0 win over Jamshedpur FC in the final held at the Kalinga Stadium. A brace from Spanish midfielder Borja Herrera and a second-half goal from Dejan Dražić sealed a memorable night for the Gaurs.
The win marks FC Goa’s first trophy under head coach Manolo Márquez, and their second overall Super Cup triumph — making them the first club to win the tournament twice. The result also earns them a spot in the AFC Champions League Two 2025–26 Preliminary Round, marking their return to continental competition after a four-year absence.
Despite Jamshedpur FC entering the final with an unbeaten defensive record, they were no match for FC Goa’s attacking intensity and flair. The breakthrough came in the 23rd minute when Sangwan’s powerful run and shot forced a save from Albino Gomes. Borja pounced on the rebound, and after his initial attempt was blocked, he slotted the ball into the top of the net.
Jamshedpur’s only real chance came late in the first half when Lazar Ćirković hit the crossbar with a powerful header, but they struggled to find momentum throughout the match.
FC Goa extended their lead early in the second half with a moment of magic from Borja. Picking up the ball near midfield in the 51st minute, he surged forward and unleashed a stunning 25-yard strike that flew into the top corner, leaving the Jamshedpur goalkeeper with no chance.
The final nail in the coffin came in the 71st minute. Carl McHugh sliced through the defence with a perfectly timed through ball. Dražić latched on, rounded the goalkeeper, and calmly tapped into an open net to make it 3–0.
Jamshedpur FC, under head coach Khalid Jamil, had no answers to FC Goa’s fluid and aggressive style of play. Even late efforts by Jordan Murray and Javier Siverio failed to trouble the Goan defence.
It was a night to remember for FC Goa, who combined clinical finishing with tactical discipline to assert their dominance on the national stage once again.
