Team Goemkarponn
Bardez: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring safe food for every Goan as the festive season of Ganesh Chaturthi approaches.
In a late-night surveillance drive, the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) team in Bardez seized non-compliant stock, including 146 kg of misbranded farsan and 120 kg of unlabelled mawa. The confiscated items were promptly destroyed.
Minister Rane emphasized that the government remains vigilant in protecting Goans from unsafe and misbranded food products, particularly during major festivals, when demand for sweets and snacks surges.
“Our priority is the health and safety of every citizen. We will continue strict monitoring to prevent any unsafe food from reaching the public,” he said.
The FDA has urged shopkeepers and manufacturers to comply with food safety regulations and avoid selling unlabelled or misbranded products, warning that such violations will face stringent action.
