BICHOLIM: Following a raid conducted by the Food and Drugs Department (FDD) in Calangute, another inspection was carried out on a sweet vendor in Parya Sattari.
During the investigation, authorities found severe unhygienic conditions and negligence in the preparation of sweets.
As a result, the department decided to seal the vendor’s business to prevent any further public health risks.
The inspection was part of a broader operation aimed at ensuring food safety and hygiene standards across the region.
Subsequently, FDA officials moved on to conduct further inspections at various locations within the Bicholim market.
The authorities are determined to enforce stricter regulations to maintain hygiene and ensure consumer safety in the food sector.
Richard Naronha, a spokesperson for the Food and Drugs Department, stated that similar operations will continue across the state, with another round of inspections scheduled for next week.
The department has urged businesses to adhere to food safety norms and maintain hygienic practices in their operations.
