Team Goemkarponn
PANAJI: As part of ongoing efforts to ensure public health and safety, the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) carried out inspections across several food business units in North Goa under the direction of FDA Director Shweta Desai.
A team comprising FDA officers Richard Noronha, Rajaram Patil, Lenin De Sa, Amit Mandrekar, and Sneha Gaude inspected a total of seven establishments in Succoro and Karaswada. While two of these units have resumed operations after complying with safety norms, the remaining five continue to remain shut pending further action.
In a separate crackdown, two Dum Biryani outlets in Colvale were found operating under unhygienic conditions and have been ordered to cease operations immediately.
“Our intent is clear—the health and safety of every individual in Goa is of utmost importance,” said a senior FDA official. “We will continue to conduct strict inspections to enforce food safety regulations.”
The FDA has reiterated its commitment to conducting regular checks to ensure that food outlets across the state maintain proper hygiene and comply with safety standards.
