BAMBOLIM: The Director of the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) has issued an order suspending Food Safety Officer Vishwasrao Rane with immediate effect, citing that disciplinary proceedings are being contemplated against him.
According to the official order, Rane has been directed to remain at the FDA headquarters in Bambolim during the suspension period and is barred from leaving without prior permission from the competent authority.
The suspension is part of standard protocol followed by the administration when inquiries or disciplinary actions are underway.
The exact reasons for the contemplated proceedings have not been disclosed.
