PANAJI: The State will implement short-term training on crisis management and firefighting to assist young people in finding work both domestically and overseas.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant added that international troops have also been receiving training at the Goa State Fire Force Training Centre, following the opening of the State Fire and Emergency Services (FES) Department’s newly built Administrative and Training Block.
Sawant stated that the building is an important development and a step forward in strengthening the state’s emergency response infrastructure and highlights the Goa Government’s commitment to guaranteeing the safety and well-being of its citizens.
“The training infrastructure will be used to conduct short-term courses in disaster management,” he added
According to him, some colleges in the state have already started offering disaster management courses, which aid students in making career decisions.
He urged the FES to launch short-term training programs that will enable young people to find employment both domestically and overseas, including aboard merchant navy ships.
Inaugurated the New Administrative and Training Block at the Fire & Emergency Services Headquarters in Panaji.

This marks yet another step forward in strengthening public safety.
