New Delhi: FIFA has unveiled Trionda, the official match ball for the 2026 World Cup, highlighting both advanced technology and a design celebrating the tournament’s three host nations: the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The ball, crafted by German sports manufacturer Adidas official supplier of World Cup balls since 1970 was revealed at a special event in New York on Thursday.
“The first World Cup organized by three countries deserves a ball that reflects its uniqueness. I am delighted and proud to present the Trionda,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
Trionda’s design incorporates the colors of the host nations red, blue, and green alongside iconic national symbols: maple leaves for Canada, an eagle for Mexico, and stars for the United States. A triangular motif represents the unity of the three countries.
Beyond aesthetics, Trionda features technological enhancements aimed at improving gameplay. Deep seams are designed to optimize in-flight stability, while embossed icons enhance grip in wet or humid conditions. A motion sensor embedded in the ball will transmit real-time data on its movement to the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system.
The 2026 World Cup, the first to feature 48 teams, is scheduled from June 11 to July 19, 2026, across North America. FIFA has already launched phased online ticket sales, with over 4.5 million fans from 216 countries entering the presale draw. The tournament draw is set for December 5 in Washington, D.C.
