PANAJI: The Crime Branch has registered a fifth FIR in connection with the Curchorem obscene videos case, naming a 20-year-old man from Cacora for alleged rape of a 19-year-old woman.
According to sources, the alleged incident took place in 2025. The accused is also suspected to have recorded the act on a mobile phone and circulated the video.
Based on the complaint, police have invoked Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with Section 67 of the Information Technology Act.
Officials indicated that additional FIRs may be filed as the investigation progresses.
The accused was earlier arrested on March 23 by Curchorem police in connection with three FIRs already registered in the case. Further probe is underway.
