North Goa Collector along with other Revenue officials visit landslide sites in four villages
Team finds out two and half kilometers of hill has come crashing down

After the massive floods, which completely destroyed the houses and the plantations, Sattari has been hit hard by landslides in Satre, Zharme and Caranzol.
Massive landslides were reported in four places in Sattari taluka created a serious situation.
Goemkarponn was first to report the landslide upon which the authorities have swung into action.
Taking serious note of the Goemkarponn report, top Revenue officials led by North Goa Collector Ajit Roy walked almost four kilometres to the landslide site for an inspection on Sunday.
The officials said the report will be submitted to the Chief Minister’s Office. After that, the government will make a decision at the required level.
After teh floods, landslides hit four villages of Sattari – Satare, Karmali Jharme and Karanjhol.
The landslides have caused massive destruction of cashew plantations and other orchards.
Following the news reports, the government finally woke up and North Goa Collector, along with Deputy Collector of Sattari Taluka Rajesh Ajgaonkar, Mamlatdar Dashrath Gavas, Sanjeevani Satardekar, Divisional Agriculture Officer and other concerned officials, visited the area.
The team first visited Satre and reviewed the landslide situation.
The team found out that about two and a half kilometres of the hill has come entirely down.
This has caused huge damage to many old trees and forest resources. The cashew orchards at the bottom of the hill have been severely damaged.
A similar situation has arisen in the Karmali area. In this village
there were cashew orchards of the citizens of this area.
When contacted, Sattari Mamlatdar Dashrath Gawas said that the team has conducted an inspection as per the government’s instructions.
“A report in this regard will be submitted to the Chief Minister’s Office. The Divisional Agriculture Office, WRD and Forest Department have been directed to submit a report in this regard,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Chief Engineer, Irrigation Department, Pramod Badami, visited the area and inspected the situation.
He was accompanied by Executive Engineer Prakash Naik Walpai, Assistant Engineer Shailesh Pokale and Junior Engineer Aziz Shah.
Badami said that he will prepare a report and submit it to the Collector.
Dangerous situation if the rain continues…

Meanwhile, Mamlatdar Dashrath Gavas said that the hill’s soil has ultimately come down, and further danger cannot be ruled out if heavy rains continue.
“We will submit a report to the government on the losses and a possible danger soon,” he said.
Don’t just conduct an inspection; take action: villagers
Meanwhile, the locals have demanded that the government must only conduct inspections but also take concrete action.
“Stop the drama of conducting inspection and take action. The government must try to find out the reasons behind this, noting that such incidents will not happen again in the future,” locals said.
Locals demanded the appointment of a special committee to find out the reasons for landslides.
